Tarte and Benefit are two of my favorite lines. I love everything about them from their packing to their quality. They have failed me with a few of their products- The Lights, Camera Flashes mascara and the Cheek Tint and Fine-One-One. These products are weird and didn’t work right.

Benefit Lollitint Cheek Tint and Fine One One

I think the Fine One One (cream twist blush) is discontinued , but the Lollitint is still available. The Lollitint is a cheek and lip stain, and the Fine One One is a peachy blush/highlighter.

Problem- they are too sheer and tricky to apply. I did what I could and watched tutorials but it wasn’t working. The Lollitint is one of their most popular products, but I just can’t figure out how to apply it and gave up. I gave up trying to figure out the Fine One One. These two products taught me that I am better off sticking to powder blushes. Creams and tints don’t work all that well for me.

The Lights Camera Flashes Mascara

Last year, Tarte was having a one time value special where I had a chance to select 6 pre-selected products. I am a big fan of their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. I wanted something new and went for the gold tube (comparison post). I didn’t like the brush because it was too hard and the mascara did not fully color my lashes. Their famous purple tube mascara works much better.

All I can say is I tried with these products and nothing I did worked.

I purchased these when I was still new to their line.

Hello Flawless: I had to return Hello Flawless because the foundation has too much yellow undertone. I remember watching videos on YouTube and HSN of how to use the foundation. I couldn’t help but notice no matter the skin tone the yellow undertone kept showing up.

Peek-a-Bright Eyes: I think for $32 is too much for this product because all it contains are 3 eye shadows, a highlight, and mini brushes. It is over priced and offers very little.

At one point, some of this stuff worked really well.  However, as I started experimenting with it more, it lost its vespa.

First up are two products from Urban Decay- The Naked Powder and Ozone lip liner

I needed a new lip primer, so I decided to try the Ozone 24/7 glide-on which is a clear lip pencil used to stop feathering and bleeding and to outline the lips. I have no complaints with the other glide-ons but this one just didn’t work. It broke alot and wasn’t smooth.

Urban Decay Naked face line is a little bit weird because they are not true to color. I wore the shade naked medium. The powder is great as a finish/setting powder. Oddly, depending how it is applied, it does not work for all over the face. I applied it with a powder brush then with a sponge. When I applied it with the sponge it looked like it had a bit of an orange undertone, but when I used a brush, it was much softer and looked great with my skin it was so weird. I wonder if I was wearing the wrong shade or had a defected product. The powder is super smooth and very silky. Their Naked face line is a little off anyway and too sheer.

Second, is the Rosebud Salve Lip Balm.

When I was new to lip balms, I tried this one because of the price and a beauty guru I used to watch always used this in her videos. I will never use this again. It has been a few years since I last purchased it.

Next, Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara.

I tried this from a Bare Minerals value set. Sadly, most of the Bare Minerals mascaras are weak and do not work well with my lashes. This mascara didn’t do anything just added a little bit of color and some curl.

Last, is the Sephora Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner.

I can’t remember how I got the brush cleaner  in the first place. The brush cleaner cleans well except it takes a lot of sprays to remove the makeup.

Sigh, I’m sorry it just didn’t work :(.
