My choices for Fall lips and nails

  • Colourpop Lippie Pencil in Too Lips
  • NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Toasted Marsmallow
  • Buxom Full on Lip Gloss in Starr
  • Zoya Tara, Britta, and Courtney
  • Formulax Nail Effects Top Coat in Out of Sight

I bought most of the colors earlier this year (except the Zoya polishes) and never had the chance to fully wear them. For some reason, I would find the shades difficult to wear any other time. I will be taking full advantage of these colors and wear them as much as I can this season.

Reviews from past posts

This was just based on my own interpretation of what I think best fits 90’s lips. I think I added the Praline gloss by mistake. Even though the lipsticks are mostly cream finishes, I still think it can work because of the colors.

I have products from Tarte, MAC, and Zoya for my Spring 2016 makeup?. I thought I wasn’t going to change my makeup for the spring/summer months, but after some digging and experimenting, I have been finding some products I do like using.

On a recent trip to Orlando, I decided to wear minimal products to achieve a ‘sunkissed’ look. The Tarte blush and the Bare Minerals All Over Color were apart of older kits and not sold separately.  I kept my makeup simple as I do everyday when I am home.

When I was picking my makeup for the trip, I did not do the old popular trick of coordinating the makeup and outfits. Rather, I already had it in my mind what type of look I was going for. I think since most of my travel outfits were casual the makeup was going to compliment them anyway.

Even though the Tarte and Bare Minerals are not sold separately, I still think they can be easily found as dupes by other brands.

Flipping through January issue of Allure magazine, I found a page about blush pinks in fashion. I was inspired to do a post sharing my current favorite blush pink makeup and a Betsey Johnson bag.

Beauty by Zoya, Tarte, Nyx, and Philosophy

Shades are NYX Slim Pencil in Pale Pink and Butter Gloss in Merengue, Tarte True Love Amazonian Clay Blush, and Bubbly lip shine by Philosophy.

The nail polishes by Zoya

Betsey Johnson blush bag. I am unsure of the actual bag name. I am in love with the bag and all the room it has.

I do love blush pink because it is so elegant and can be practically worn with anything.

I have been wearing a variety of neutral makeup this year, so here are a few of my favorite products and colors for lips and nails.

Nude Lips

  • Tomoko (left)
  • Chantal (right)

I never expected myself to actually like neutral makeup. I am already aware that nudes can make a person look ‘dead’ or ‘washed out.’ These nudes work for my complexion. Many times, I do not wear the nudes on their own and mix them with other colors. When I go to mix them, I like mixing mauve and certain pink colors.

As far as the nails are concerned, I have to be a bit more careful to make sure the colors don’t blend with my skin. I layer nude polishes with colored top coats.

From the above products, my top recommendations are Chantal by Zoya, Naked lip gloss and Liar Glide-On, and Savvy. Chantal and Naked are my most reached for nudes when I can’t figure out what to wear.

I have accumulated many black eye liners and here are my top 5 picks by Korres, Benefit, Urban Decay and Tarte. I have also used gel and liquid liners, but I like kohl pencils just a bit better because it works with my eye shape, especially when I want that ‘thick’ liner look. I have big eyes with hooded lids, so pencils cooperate and are easier to apply.

Korres , BadGal, and Tarte are very soft compared to Perversion and Oil Slick. Perversion is the deepest and sharpest pencil in my collection.

Korres and Tarte are not sold separately, and I tried those unexpectedly in an HSN and QVC value set. Benefit, BadGal ($20), and Urban Decay Perversion and Oil slick ($20).

My experiences with these pencils are positive. They do not smear, smudge, or cause irritation, flake proof, and very durable during tearing. I like how the pencil tips do not get dull and last up to three uses before I need to sharpen them again.

I don’t have too much advise to give or tips on how to pick or apply black liners. When my collection started building, I was basically just ‘drawing cards,’ and like the choices I have made.
