To add to my Kat Von D obsession is the Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation Medium 53 0.31 oz/ 9 g ($35).

Packaging– Sturdy compact with a magnifying mirror

Type– Pressed Powder Foundation

Finish– Medium to full coverage matte with a yellow undertone.

I don’t like yellowy face makeup, but the yellow is not harsh and balanced out. I was able to turn the powder  full coverage by using a dry beauty sponge or a firm flat top powder brush. It works great to set under the eyes and face.

The Kat Von D Innerstellar Palette ($46) is a limited edition eye shadow palette featuring 12 cool toned satin shades.

The palette can be worn any possible way, but I like they are grouped in trios with the highlight shade on top.

  1st Group

   2nd Group

   3rd Group

KVD has amazing packaging. Since the palette is shiny, I found it hard to photograph the front and back. Detailing of the packing is very cool and has a magnifying mirror like most of her palettes. At first glance, I thought some of the shades were matte. They were swatched once, gave off very good pigment, and were not patchy or had fallout. Innerstellar did remind me of past palettes I owned but 2.0. Looking at Innerstellar, I thought some of the shades could be a possible dupe for the Urban Decay Naked2 Palette. I think Innerstellar is better.

Personally, Innerstellar was another perfect palette to wrap up 2016 ?

The new Kat Von D Shade and Light Face Contour Refillable Palette. The full palette is $46 and the individual pans are $16. I am a major fan of her original palette. The Refillable Palette is still the original palette with the same colors but new packaging. Once I use up the original palette, I plan on getting an individual refillable pan in Shadow Play (the center contour shade). I stopped using Sombre (first contour shade) and Subconscious (third contour shade). Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Contour Palette Refill Shadowplay 0.08 oz/ 2.3 g (middle) is my favorite especially as a bronzer.

The Refillable Palette is available on the Sephora website.

The Kat Von D Contour Palette is an exclusive to Sephora ($46). There are three highlighters and three sculpting shades. The Palette includes a simple face chart to contour different areas of the face.

I have labeled the palette to describe each section shade:

Shade 1 Highlight (Lucid) ; Shade 2 Contour (Sombre)

Shade 3 Highlight (Lyric) ; Shade 4 Contour (Shadowplay)

Shade 5 Highlight (Levitation) ; Shade 6 Contour (Subconscious)

The Shade + Light is my first contour palette. I didn’t know where to begin on choosing my palette because of the selection of contour palettes on the market. Shade + Light are free of the four biggest ingredients I like stay away from in makeup which are talc, mica, mineral oil, and parabens.  The palette does not create sharp or harsh contour lines. I noticed the highlighters have offered my skin warmth. I use all 6 shades for different things. I mainly contour my cheek bones.

The highlighters and contour shades are very generous in size. I’ve been using the Shade + Light loyally for over 5 months and still have plenty of product. The palette is sturdy and ideal for traveling.

The Shade + Light takes out most of the contouring guess work and is great for beginners.
