Discontinued

Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation and Smudge Sticks in Mint Julep and Violet. The Smudge Sticks are becoming my second favorite eye liner next to UD 24/7 Glide-ons. Mint Julep and Violet are discontinued, but the Smudge Sticks are still on the website; and the Illuminating Liquid Foundation makes my skin look so refreshed. I also found the Too Faced Melted Metallic in Bunny.  I’m not sure why the Melted Metallics are getting discontinued. I randomly found these at TJ MAXX and Marshalls. I went back to check Stila and Too Faced website sale section and didn’t find the shades.

Permanent

Buxom Wildly Whipped Liquid Lipstick in Nudist and theBalm Beach Balm.

Colourpop came out with limited edition pearlized duo chrome highlighters ($8). Honeymoon is one of the four shades. Honeymoon reminds me of the ABH Moon Child Glow Kit. I started getting more into duochrome makeup, but the highlighter is a hit/miss for me. I do love Lunch Money and hit pan, and Honeymoon is my second highlighter. The formula feels very light and moosey compared to their original highlighters. With its pearlized finished, Honeymoon has a silvery white base with tons of blue/lavender shifts which served as a problem for me. The highlighter on me looked like a white glittery strip. However, I started playing around with the Honeymoon and tried it as an eyeshadow and it worked great. I’m still doubting this highlighter.

The pearlized highlighters are still available.

Mug Shot

  Kween

   My Jam Ultra Glossy Lip

During the Holidays, Colourpop was offering free things every week with purchase. I was able to get three free lip colors included in my haul.

Ultra Metallic lips- Mug Shot and Kween are two very different shades. Mug shot is described as a cranberry red, and Kween is described as a Marsala. I remember when these first came out last year I was reluctant to buy them. In all the pics of the Metallics, they look like they had way too much metallic. The metallic did not serve as a problem. I found the formula to be very comfortable and light. Their texture is lighter than the Ultra Mattes and Satins. I don’t think they fall under the category as an actual liquid lipstick. These do transfer and leave behind some metallic on the lips.

Ultra  Glossy lips-  My Jam reminds me of those Jouer Lip Toppers all the Youtubers are using. I haven’t used lip gloss all that much in the past year. My Jam stood out to me. The My Jam brush does take out alot of product and some of the product has to be whipped. I made the mistake of adding too much gloss on my bottom lip with a matte lip shade and it caused some separation.

These are Brittany approved!

I already have a full review on the Wildly Whipped Liquid Lipstick. Even though Instigator did not work out, I still love the formula and decided to give it another try with Nudist. For me, Nudist is a better shade with how it settles than Instigator. I’ve been getting into very pale pastel nudes. Nudist is a pale pastel nude with peach undertones.

Too Faced Melted Metal in Bunny. I can best describe the feel as a metallic creamier lip gloss instead of a liquid lipstick. The formula is not tacky nor is it transfer proof. I’ve worn this shade a few times and needed retouches. I love the color.

I’m disappointed on the limited Colourpop lippie pencil ($5) reviews. I have Dopey pencil w/Ultra Satin ($11). The pencil is very smooth, has a fine tip, and a matte finish. It did not weigh down my lips. I own Toolips lip liner. Both lip liners offer a sharp defined lip line where I don’t have to over draw my lips. I forgot to do a close up shot of the pencil tip. Some pencils get dull and break very quickly even after a fresh sharpen. When I resharpened the pencil, I was able to get about four more uses.  The pencils blend in so well with their coordinating shades it is hard to tell there is a full liner underneath.

The formula is truly a one coat cream. All swatches are one coat without streaking or globbing up. The creamy formula is very opaque and blends smoothly. I know most nail polishes are meant to be applied with two thin coats to avoid instant peeling and chipping, but the one coat opacity lasts. Since the formula is very creamy and opaque, I had to wipe off some of the excess.

Tatum, Cathy, and Jill did not blend in with my skin. I have to be careful with certain pale and pinky nude nail polishes. All the shades are completely different. I like the arrangement  from light to dark. My favorite light shade is Cathy, and my favorite dark shades are Debbie and Mary.

Lipsticks

Zoya has offered coordinating lipsticks in cream finish. With their summer 2016 collection, I receive a complimentary lipstick except I didn’t like it.

Cameron and Paisley are a satin finish cream, and Maxwell is a matte cream. Zoya describes them ‘as a year round color without drying and wears 4-6 hrs.’ I haven’t fully tested all three. I wore Cameron this week, and the color is amazing, and the formula was not drying or uncomfortable. I did have to swatch them up to 4x to get pigment. The lipsticks are not dark in the tube then swatch light. When I first started with lipsticks, I had this beautiful fig I would always wear, and Paisley is close enough to it.

I am so happy with the colors.

 Desert

Glitterati

Desert (permanent shade in limited edition packaging for the holidays) is described as a satin peach tan. I love wearing the shade on its own or to warm up the crease. Glitterati (limited edition repromoted) is described as a metallic silver with gold glitter. In person, I noticed Glitterati appears to have olive flecks mixed in with the gold. Glitterati is far from a dupe for their Super Shock Shadow in Liberty. I don’t own Liberty, but from the swatches I’ve seen, Liberty is a true silver blast and highly pigmented. Glitterati is a softer version of Liberty.

Super Shock Shadow is ($5) on Colourpop.

Finish

  • Light weight and comfortable matte

Shades

  • Instigator is described as a deep berry. There’s no shade description for Charming. Charming and Investigator look terracotta to me.
  • Perfect Dupes

Verdict- Since Instigator and Charming are perfect dupes, I returned Instigator.  I did not like the way Instigator set on my lips. I think theBalm is better with consistency and color. TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Charming is one of my favorite liquid lipsticks.
